Shabaash Mithu: Taapsee Pannu’s upcoming film to hit the theatres

Reportedly, Taapsee Pannu’s upcoming movie Shabaash Mithu is basically a biographical sports drama which is produced by Colosseum Media and Viacom18 Studios. The film is based on the life of the recent test and ODI captain of the Indian women’s cricket team named Mithali Raj.

Biography of Indian women’s team captain Mithali Raj:

This July 15th, Shabaash Mithu, Taapsee Pannu’s upcoming movie is about to release in the theatres. This movie is a biographical sports drama which is directed by Srijit Mukherji and written by Priya Aven and is based on the life of the celebrated skipper of the Indian women’s cricket team Mithali Raj.

Mithali has a career span of about 23 years in which she boasts of around 5 consecutive 50s in ODI and has led the Indian team in 4 World Cups. The upcoming movie portrays her journey since she was just an 8-year-old girl with a dream of becoming a cricket legend.

About Mithali Raj:

Mithali is an Indian cricketer who is also the Test and ODI captain of the Indian women’s national cricket team. The cricketer is a right-handed upper-middle order batter and occasional right-arm leg-break bowler.

She is the cricketer who is also the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket, and she is also considered to be one of the best female cricketers to exist. Mithali Dorai Raj aka Mithu was born in December 1982 in the city of Jodhpur which is based in Rajasthan, India.

The cricketer debuted as a captain in ODI on June 26th,1999 when the team played against Ireland the last ODI match she played was on March 27th, 2022 and her debut as a captain in Test was on January 14th, 2002 as she led the team in a match against England. Mithali is not considered one of the best cricketers for no reason as she holds numerous records in international cricket.

Moreover, she is the only female cricketer to surpass the 7000 run marks in Women’s One-Day International matches. She became the captain of the side in the year 2005. Furthermore, she is the only female cricketer to have captained India in more than one ICC ODI World Cup final, that also twice in the year 2005 and 2017.

Lately, Taapsee Pannu a Bollywood actress who starred in Shabana the action and thriller movie took to her Instagram and announced the release date of her upcoming film Shabaash Mithu along with a new poster and through her caption she showed what a real feminist is by saying that there is nothing more powerful than a girl with a dream and a plan to realize it. She also wrote the story of such girl who chased her dream with a bat in this Gentleman’s Game.
